The glass of the Kani scented candle features large baobab trees in shades of khaki green and beige. The design was created by a Uniwax designer in the great tradition of African drawings. Vetiver wood is celebrated for a radically woody fragrance, reinforced by notes of galbanum and leather that unfold as the candle burns.

Vetiver - Galbanum - LeatherThe fragrances in the Sacred Trees collection had to have an olfactory identity in line with the woody fragrance families. We were also keen to source raw materials from Africa. The scent of the Kani candle exudes the woody notes of vetiver, the major accord of this fragrance. Galbanum flower adds roundness to the composition, giving way to leathery base notes.
Know-how
Sublimation involves printing the design with natural pigments on a biodegradable film. This is then applied around the glass and heated so that it adheres to the material. The flame can be seen through the design, which lights up like a lamp, bringing the candle to life.
Use
The quality of our scented candles involves a specific burning ritual. Each time the candle is burned, it is important to wait until the entire surface liquefies before extinguishing the candle. This will prevent the formation of craters which are unattractive and make burning more difficult. The first time you light your candle, it will always burn for longer than on subsequent occasions. Allow time for the first layer of wax to liquefy completely. The length of time this takes varies depending on the size of the candle.
Never burn the last 1cm (1/2 inch) of wax to avoid flames burning against the glass.
Ingredients
In compliance with the latest regulations, we provide full ingredient transparency for all our scented candles. Our candles are crafted using a premium blend of waxes and high-quality fragrances. Each fragrance composition may include a combination of essential oils (e.g., eucalyptus, geranium, citrus, etc.) and fragrance components (e.g., benzyl salicylate, linalool, limonene, geraniol, eucalyptol, etc.). The exact composition varies by fragrance, and specific details can be found on the individual product packaging. Some of our candles contain naturally occurring fragrance allergens that may cause reactions in sensitive individuals. These may include, but are not limited to, linalool (found in floral and herbal scents, may cause irritation), limonene (derived from citrus oils, a potential sensitizer), geraniol (present in rose and geranium oils, may cause skin sensitivity), eucalyptol (found in eucalyptus oil, may cause irritation in sensitive individuals), and benzyl salicylate (common in floral fragrances, a potential allergen). For a full list of allergens in a specific scent, please refer to the product label or contact our customer service team.
